Join IRQO in its efforts to achieve equal rights for the Iranian Queer community

There are several ways for you to contribute effectively to our struggle to achieve equal rights for Iranian Queer people around the world.

The Aims and Objectives of IRQO are as follows:

1.To continue the mandate of the organization known as the Persian Gay & Lesbian Organization.

2.To remain a non-political, non-profit, non-governmental organization with no ties to any religious institution that strives to improve the situation of Iranian sexual minorities;

3.To raise social and cultural awareness in order to improve the life situation of Iranian sexual minorities living in Iran or abroad;

4.To collect and present research, news and information about topics such as sexuality, sexual orientation and gender identity to Iranian sexual minorities living in Iran or abroad;

5.To remain practically committed to the human rights laws expressed by the United Nations Commission on Human Rights;

6.To facilitate equality in rights and the end of discrimination against sexual minorities in Iran;

7.To advocate and advance sexual, physical, and psychological health and safety for sexual minorities in society; and

8.To ensure that the organization’s activities remain non-political and free of racial, ethnic and religious bias.

To work towards these goals, IRQO shall:

(i) create a platform for Iranian lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people, in their quest for recognition, equality and liberation.

(ii) work towards equal representation for Iranian lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people in our quest for recognition, equality and liberation;

(iii) give locally initiated and determined support for Iranian LGBT Communities in all parts of the world;

(iv) collect information, conduct research, publish material and organize seminars, training, briefings and specialized conferences;

(v) offer facilities for co-ordination of activities and actions.

You may become a member of IRQO by join to our mailing list, you allow us to keep you updated on human rights and sexual orientation related matters, as well as letting you know when and how to respond to a call for action.

Last but not least, you may donate money to IRQO through a one-time donation or a regular monthly payment, even if it is only a small amount every month (for example 20 Dollars/Euros/£ or more) by our PayPal security donation form in our home page (www.irqo.net). IRQO, just as any non-governmental organization, can better concentrate on its work only if its funding is secure for the long term and comes from multiple sources.
