IRQO in New York City, USA: A Celebration of Courage

International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission

Join IGLHRC to Honor Grassroots Activists

(New York, April 17, 08) Just 11 more days to go until IGLHRC's A Celebration of Courage event in New York City, where IGLHRC will present its 2008 Felipa Award to two outstanding grassroots activists--Arsham Parsi on behalf of the Iranian Queer Organization (IRQO) and Chilean trans activist Andrés Ignacio Rivera Duarte.

Don't miss this chance to meet the human rights defenders who take extraordinary measures, every day, to create a safer world for LGBTI people around the world.

The event will also feature exclusive film footage of Archbishop Desmond Tutu's historic speech to the LGBTI community after receiving IGLHRC's OUTSPOKEN Award in San Francisco earlier this month.

IBM Corporation will also receive IGLHRC's Special Recognition Award for its contributions to IGLHRC's global mission of building a strong and viable LGBTI human rights movement and for its leadership in promoting non-discrimination policies in all of its workplaces in the world.
